Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee’s mother Geeta Devi has left for her heavenly abode. She breathed her last on Thursday morning. If the reports are to be believed, she wasn’t well for the past 20 days. She was admitted to the Delhi's Pushpajali Medical Centre and Max Superspeciality Hospital. The departed soul was very close to the actor.

According to the statement released by Manoj’s publicist, she passed away on December 8 at 8:30 a.m. She was the actor’s pillar of strength. Even though the reason behind the death is yet to be revealed, DNA reported that she was suffering from a prolonged illness. Further information about the last rites is awaited. She was survived by her children- three sons and three daughters. For the unversed, The Family Man actor’s father R K Bajpayee passed away last year in October in Delhi at the age of 83. His sister Poonam Dubey is also a famous fashion designer in the Indian film industry.

He has amassed a huge fan following with his versatile acting. The 53-year-old actor has made a mark in the industry with his ground-breaking performances in movies like Satya, Sonchiriya, Gangs Of Wasseypur, Aligarh, Special 26 and Kaun?, among many more. Talking about the movies, in a recent media interaction, Manoj had opened up about south movies being famous only for their box-office collections. He had told Good Times, “Koi baat hi nahi kar raha hai ki film kaisi hai? Koi baat karne ko raazi nahi hai performances kaesi hai. Baki departments ki kya contribution hai? Kya hai na hum sab Rs. 1000 crore aur 300 crore aur 400 crore mein phasein huye hai. Yeh jhagda kaayi saalon se chal raha hai aur mujhe lagta hai ki yeh khatam hone wala hai nahi.”
